So not sure about Eclipse Upgrade, though suspect it would be costly because it would mean a lot of parts swapping out. And they did the same with the older, heavier G2 when they upgunned it to 1-6. BUT, I do not know if they could take my 1-4 and convert it to a 1-5.

Most people looking at the Equinox alone would not know if it was a 5 or an Equinox if not for the label on front (and 2 pounds lighter!) Inogen did an Upgrade to the Inogen G3 by upgunning it to a Setting of 5 from the 4 I bought! Exactly the same machine in every other aspect. And the Equinox is a smaller version of the 5. And it looks to me like the same basic system in size, shape and format, though the 5 has higher settings and more features. No, I did not see the Upgrade Comment, but the Eclipse 5 is the Successor to (at least) the 3 and the 4. Rental Period for Batteries-$40 per Battery x 3 weeks = $120 Weekly Rate for Eclipse 5 -$140 per week x 3 weeks = $420 (Rental Cost Higher for Non-Customers, they say) But they bare required to "grandfather" all current patients, so still have equipment. They went out of the O2 business as of July 1st, when new Medicare Rules apparently reduced payments on O2 further. I am Renting from Roberts Home here in Fairfax, VA (County south of D.C.).
Takes a little planning on battery conservation etc, especially if you are flying to Europe or beyond. If you have never traveled long distance on O2, I would be happy to give you a few tips I just gave to another Inspire Member on Message.

A trip to Europe would require 7-8 batteries (a ton!!) as airlines require 150% battery time (UA is flight time plus 3 hours!) See photo from the Equinox Manual. And forget Continuous on battery on a Plane, as it is about 1.8 hours with a 24 Cell. The 24 cell battery has a life of 6 hours at a Pulse Setting of 1, a very low Pulse.
Using an Oxymizer Cannula will boost that 3 to 5.5 LPM. The Continuous on the 5 and the Equinox is 3 LPM. Rather it is a Setting of 9 (and settings of 7, 8 and 9 are for a slower rate of breathing - 15 bpm at 9 vs higher bpm at lower settings). I have the latter and it is great, but not quite good enough for a Sep 13th trip to Europe.Īlso, it is not 9 L. My Eclipse 5 is $140 per week for 3 weeks, plus $40 each for the 3 weeks - all accessories included.įTR, the 5 is 18.4 with 24 Cell Battery and the Equinox is 16 pounds with 24 cell Battery (the 12 Cell is a waste of money!), and the Inogen G3 is 7 pounds with 24 Cell Battery (same comment). Who are you renting it from and what is the Cost of the POC plus the extra batteries? I am interested. I have reserved for a Europe Trip a SeQual Eclipse 5, the older 18 pound POC with exactly the same specs as the Equinox.
